❝ Knock it off, Stu! I know it's you and it isn't funny anymore! ❞ She remarked, her grip on her phone tightening slightly. Though she spoke with confidence, fear could be heard in the inflections with which she spoke. She wanted so desperately to believe that she knew that this was just a prank — it had to be a prank. It was easy to blame her ex because she knew him well, and this was something he would do; she could count the times he would call her and use strange voices. But every time she knew it was him, something in the way he spoke led her to that conclusion every time. This time, however, was entirely different. She wanted to believe that it was someone she knew because she was getting sacred, in all honesty. 

A smile greeted the receiver as her head shook slightly. ❝ I'm really not in the mood for games. I'm hanging up now. Okay? ❞ She inquired as though she needed the voice to tell her it was fine. She would hang up either way. She wanted to relax, not play some sick and twisted game over the phone. Her parents wouldn't be home until late Sunday night; she had seen the movies — she knew what happened to girls in a big house who was home alone late at night. 

She hadn't spoken to Billy or Stu since she broke up with the latter to date Steve, and quite frankly, she didn't want to because she knew that she would need to provide an explanation. Perhaps that was why she thought the person on the other end was her ex, trying to freak her out in some sort of sick vengeance. Early that day at school, she had noticed them— Billy and Sidney & Stu and Tatum. They were a new group, one she didn't know anymore, and part of her was okay with that.

stu definately hadn’t been prepared for a talk about how shit woodsboro was. not in the middle of eating his ice cream cone and trying to figure out what radio station he wanted to turn on. but billy still managed to surprise him sometimes. leaving the radio station on a hits channel, he turns to look at billy. ‘ yeah, i mean, so do i. but then, don’t we fuckin’ all. i don’t know if it’s the place or the people or the fact that there’s shit all for us to do around here we haven’t already done. i mean, i’m so bored i started killing people. ‘ thank god no ones home to hear stu say something stupid. but he chuckles anyway. like it’s such a funny joke. like all the massacring is just something to pass the time. 

                        ❛ I thought once that gods are the opposite of death, ❜  king was never much of an overly religious man, he went to church as a child, attended sunday school with his parents as he had been expected to. but his belief never went any further than that, than him following through with the expectations of him being a religious man.  the script may have flipped in recent years, some of the events that transpired could only be explained by the intervention of something holy.
