Be More Chill HeeReyes AU, Hectic Mornings and Tired Dads
"Anne you can't just leave without telling me and then not find a babysitter for Jeremy. You know I have a business meeting later!" Mr. Heere tried to sound calm as he talked to his wife over the phone. Jeremy sat in the baby carrier on his chest, happily playing with his stuffed bunny.
"I'm sorry Jon but something came up. Besides I'll only be gone for a day." Mr. Heere sighed as the woman hung up and he looked down at his seven month year old. "Looks like it's just you and me little guy." The man grabbed the cup of coffee of the kitchen table. Caffeine always helped with the headaches.
Pulling up his phone the man saw a reminder for his yoga class in thirty minutes.
"Hey Jer Bear, wanna go to the gym with daddy." The baby looked up confused. Mr. Heere did not trust the gym's playroom an he hated leaving his baby to be taken care of by someone else but there wasn't exactly any other choices. Picking up his car keys Mr. Heere grabbed his gym bag and left the house.
Opening his back door the man strapped Jeremy into his baby blue car seat. The baby's eyes widened at the dolphin mobile just above him. His tiny hands let go of his stuffed bunny and Mr. Heere had to reach down and put back with his son.
"Careful Jer Bear, don't want to lose David Hasslehops do ya?" Jeremy made garbled baby noises. "Right." Closing the door the man entered the front seat and started the car up when his phone vibrated.
'Wilsons case moved up to afternoon. Be at office with papers ASAP.'
It took all of Mr. Heere's effort not to slam his head against the wheel. Of course they did. Looking down at his tanktop and shorts the man knew he didn't have time to change for the office.
"Fuck it, they want to call me in early? This what they're gonna get." He pulled out of the driveway and began to make his way to office.
The traffic was heavier than usual making warm weather even more unbearable in the small car. "Hey leather seats she says. They're better she says. Bullshit I say." Jeremy seemed unbothered by both the heat and his father's mini tirade as they pulled into the parking lot just outside the law firm.
Pulling into an empty spot the man quickly got out, putting Jeremy back in his baby carrier and went to grab the brief case tucked under the passenger seat.
"Excuse me?" A voice called out as the father dug around for his case. "Are you Jonathan Heere?" The man had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Probably another potential client.
"Jon," the man grabbed his case and stood up, "and what do you..." He trailed off when he saw the man who had asked the question. "Who are you?"
"My name's Sam Reyes, I was wondering if you could help me with a friend's case?"
