17. talk about your writing and editing process

oh boy here we go uhhh so after i became close to ari, it begins with a brainrot with her; like, we send videos from tiktok, ig reels, twt... about something random or hee/jake and i be like "who in enha" LMAO and i tease her with some dialogues.. or sometimes i just wake up thinking about a topic and decide to write!

then i throw it on the doc: the raw ideas, the dialogues i created in my head (often i'm laying down or like showering and i start to think about the idea and a dialogue pops up- AJSDASDHASD), and the ones i sent to ari.

once i have everything i had in my mind already written down, i start to create a proper plot around it until i reach the part that triggered the whole story. in the meantime i try to add the backstory and character details, as well as the metaphors i often use to describe sensations and emotions..

and i think it's a bless (or a curse?) that my brain just... make it all make sense in the end. i can add a simple detail on the very beginning and forget it throughout the plot, then it randomly clicks and i be like oh i'll reference that one part bla bla bla. and that happens with the title as well... it✨ appears ✨(and there are moments where i have the title before the rest of the story, so i try to match both)

since im a psychologist 🤓 i have this urge to create an acceptable background reason for some choices sometimes, or simply how the environment and parents/family "shaped" the character's personality, so this happens as well.

i'm constantly searching for synonyms (and i keep forgetting them) and i use google translate a lot lmaooo. and when i'm reading a fic, i try to gather random words i never heard of and fit into something i'm writing (not being eng fluent struggles)

uhhh i don't re-read much, i only re-read to make sure i'm consistent. that's why none of my plots are proofreaded (and cuz i know nothing about gramatics to correct myself! hah)

i didn't understand the "editing process" part.. it's about the fic itself? if so i think i already answered 😭😭 but if it's the editing as in the images/header: i just select pictures of the member that matches his description and throw them on photoshop with the name i came up with, gather a few random details and textures and hope that i'll be able to make a decent header for the story 😭

i'm not much of a hobby girlie ig... but i like playing valorant, watching random videos.. OH and taking pictures of the sky (especially the night skyyyy) or just the nature
