        her  life  was  far  too  busy  for  complications  and  commitments  other  than  her  job  ,  which  is  why  this  arrangement  had  been  working  so  well  for  her  .  she  hadn’t  been  quite  able  to  let  go  of  ruby  entirely  ,  but  didn’t  want  all  the  things  that  came  with  being  in  a  relationship  anymore  .  that’s  not  to  say  lalani  regret  being  with  the  other  woman  ,  the  timing  just  hadn’t  been  right  .  she  ignores  ruby’s  words  ,  clearing  her  throat  .  “  things  are  about  to  get  more  ...  chaotic  with  work  so  there  won’t  be  any  more  time  now  .  ”
