Perhaps it was the better part of his days, long days held in the castle of Nohr. The days where he witnesses the young princess, manages to see her when he can. She was always so happy, wasn’t she? Perhaps her happiness rubs off on him, making him smile at just how cheerful the young princess Elise truly is. It was something for him to look forward to, the times she comes to say hello and he makes it a habit to talk when he can.

She was the light in this dreary place.

     “A...flower crown, milady?” He knows that the young princess      had a habit, one of making these floral circlets but to be handed      one himself...it was surprising. One that has him hesitate as he      reaches to take the ring from the young girl.

Generally, Satan sent out subordinates to perform this sort of work, but he was feeling like a change of scenery would be enjoyable. It was his habit to explore various worlds in search of something- he didn’t know what, not specifically- but perhaps a miracle. The world in which he found himself appeared even less technologically advanced than his own, and yet that alone wouldn’t rule it out as having nothing interesting to offer. 

After walking through the streets of one village, he decided his apparel was inappropriate and changed (for him, it was as simple as willing it, and his suit morphed into something much different), instead donning period-appropriate clothing with a red cloak draped over his shoulders. 

Spotting a young woman, he approaches her and greets her with a polite smile (It wouldn’t do to look unfriendly).
