@heatherxmp @mphecate had been a while since Hecate was around - and this was usually the time that he knew she wasn’t coming back so soon anyway. It had always been this way with the two of them. She’d go away for a while and then eventually return - that song and dance. But it was over, Khonshu was done waiting at the door like a puppy. As much as he truly loved her, he had to love himself as well. He was a bit angry in his feelings and was trying to move on and continue with his life as he should.

It’s taken her a while to find the right person for the little ploy she’s had in mind almost since the very beginning. The sole reason that it has taken her this long is because the person in question doesn’t only have to play a part of her supposed loving boyfriend when in front of her father and brother, they also have to be able to withstand the glare they will no doubt be subjected to by her father and the quick barrage of prying questions she thinks her brother might throw their way if given too much time alone with her ‘boyfriend’.

Now her father’s glares aren’t of mediocre quality, but Heather has a very good unimpressed face, she’s noticed, and to top it off, their chemistry isn’t half bad either. If she were into men, she might have even been into him. As it is, though, she just thinks it’s a shame he’s not a model, but considering the little issue he has with water, perhaps it’s for the best as well. All the more chance for her to use him in her little ploy to distract her father and brother from her other, actual romances.

So that is why, after talking about it a few times and making sure Heather knew she wasn’t just joking around, they have now gathered at his apartment to sit down and properly discuss the what and how of it all. She’s already explained to him the scrutiny her family will no doubt put him under, as well as indicated that she’ll be very close and cuddly with him the entire time, because her family knows very well how much she likes the physical affection.

tw; brief mentions of death/dying

truly speaking gemini hadn’t felt this nervous since he’d first confessed to heather what felt like ages ago. of course, it didn’t help with the fact that he had barely managed to send a few letters few and far between either, failing miserably in updating the younger of his status more times than not. when he’d left the island in a rather impromptu manner, gemini had promised heather that he wouldn’t be gone for long in any sense of the word.

oh how wrong he was.

a singular planned week morphed into a month, which quickly morphed into three ― though in gemini’s defense, he wasn’t exactly expecting to arrive to witness his mother on her deathbed either. his first instinct was to turn right around and leave, but seeing her so frail... it was best to say that he was grateful he didn’t.

the adventure in itself was something he knew he’d needed to discuss thoroughly with heather when the time to sit down and talk came, but right now? all gemini cared about was being able to hold the younger in his arms again. days and nights spent without the demigod by his side had rendered him incredibly lonely ― and the only person who ever managed to fill such a spot now dwelled in the apartment before him.

fixing the tie of his two-piece suit, gemini tries desperately not to crush the bouquet of frosted flowers he holds in a near-death grip ― a partial accomplice to his apology in being absent. fiddling with his keys, the soft melody of christmas music hums through the door as he turns the lock and slowly pushes the door open, oh so grateful to have fixed the squeaky hinges months ago.

It was half after midnight when Val decided to take a break. She’d been working double time to perfect these two routines she’d choreographed. One was for another dancer at Minx she was helping out and the other was for a dance video for her YouTube channel. Apollo had been kind enough to let her stay late in the gym in order to make some more progress. She was thankful for that and completely under the impression she would be the only one left in the big empty building at this hour.

Until she heard the obvious sound of splashing coming from the pool, the normally muffled sound made louder by the lack of extra noise in the gym. Her curiosity got the better of her as her bare feet carried her to the pool area. Perhaps she was hoping it was Apollo passing some time before she left, if that was the case she wouldn’t mind catching him taking a swim. What she wasn’t expecting when she poked her head into the chlorine filled room was an unfamiliar face. Val was a bit flustered, thinking if she was alone with anyone it would have been the owner of the gym. Instead, it’s a face that took a moment to register as indeed - not unfamiliar.

She’d met Heather a few times at various bars and she was sure he’d been in the audience at Minx more than once. Her cheeks immediately heated up at the sight of him pulling himself from the pool, aided by her already increased heartrate from her rehearsal. After a much too long moment, she decided she should make herself known instead of being a creeper.

it was a long day, though not necessarily a rough one, and gemini was grateful ― running from one end of the hospital to the other for hours at a time took an eventual toll on the demigod’s figure. did he mind? normally, no. gemini always reminded himself that people’s lives depended on him, such a though normally invigorating the son of dagda with new energy. more often then not, when he was caught up in his own thoughts was when gemini found himself wearing down ― and tonight? well, he had much to think about.

his coat is already slipping off his shoulders as the apartment door shuts behind him, sighing gently to himself at the promise of finally being home; and even more so, to be able to see heather. he was so used to his lover’s presence visiting that it didn’t come as a surprise when the echo of music trails from the living room, unable to help a small smile from creeping onto his face. humming along softly, the surgeon slips his shoes off and sets his bag down before making his way over to the entryway, the sight of heather grooving per say earning a bemused and affectionate expression. gemini can’t help but quite enjoy the scene before him ― leaning against the doorframe with arms crossed, it’s a domestic sight he’d never thought to see.... and yet, it was perfect all the same.

a scoff escapes gemini at the other demigod’s words, partially due to the weight atop him and partially due to the mild aggravation of his stubbornness. the surgeon knew heather had a tendency to be like this, the times they’ve spent together under rather interesting specifications proved that to be real enough. still, gemini didn’t think he’d ever get entirely used to it ― as much as it excited him, it also poked his ego more than he’d like to admit.

“ guess i’m getting a taste of it now, hm? “ his voice is husky, allowing his head to be tilted up as his hands now freely move to grip at heather’s thighs. pressing his fingers into his jeans, gemini peers through his lashes up at the other male, sighing lightly when his breath fans across his neck. the question ― or rather challenge ― causes his brow to quirk, hands tightening somewhat. “ your wish is my command. “ he nearly laughs as he says it, body going still for a moment before he’s suddenly jerking up into a sitting position, arm slipping around heather’s waist to pull him closer. “ but i can’t promise i’ll be gentle when you’re being bad. “ gemini tsks as he lifts the male up slightly, pushing himself to stand as he pulls heather up and over his shoulder. gripping onto the demigod’s legs, he turns and begins to make his way down the hallway towards his room, hold tight around heather both to stop him from falling and yet to also make sure he didn’t get away.

the look gemini gave him would often times be enough to deter anyone in his vicinity, god or demigod alike ― still, heather knew him well enough to know it was something of feigned annoyance. peering up at the rather boisterous male with furrowed brows, the son of dagda sighs and flings the TV remote onto the other end of the couch he lounges upon, nudging up slightly to rest against the arm. “ what? me looking at you isn’t enough? “ he scoffs with a slight shake of his head, though the flicker of a smile on the corner of his lips beams the truth ― he’s loving it, and just a bit too much at that.

he doesn’t try to hide the way his stare slowly travels down the expanse of heather’s body, over the dip of his waist and the curvature of his hips gemini all too often loved to get his hands on. interest was evident enough as he sits up, swinging his legs onto the ground as he leans forward, tongue darting forwards across his bottom lip ― the blue of his left iris seemed to burn into heather’s skin, watching the male through his lashes as his lips part to speak.

gemini’s footsteps are hurried across the wooden cascade of the pier before him, cool night air doing next to nothing to calm the heat that ran through his veins. where is he? the thought rang unparalleled in the expanse of his mind, worry evident in the manner of which his eyes flickered across the water. when he’d texted heather requesting to talk, the younger had offered for them to meet at the dock, and gemini was all too happy to oblige ― now though? the steady realization that the son of ran was nowhere to be seen weighed heavy on his shoulders, and so did the mild panic growing within him at such a fact.
