Verbenastar gathers the Clan for a meeting, her voice ringing across the clearing. She has spent many moons training Heatherpaw, and now the time has come for her to receive her warrior name. With pride, Verbenastar names her Heatherriver, honoring her strong drive.
As the Clan cheers, Burnpaw steps forward, eager for her own moment. Yet something feels off...
her gaze drifts beyond the horizon, as if her thoughts are somewhere far away. She barely seems to hear as Verbenastar names her Burnbriar, honoring her adaptability. She is given her name, but Burnbriar’s attention lingers elsewhere, distant and unfocused.
Heatherriver finds an abandoned kit whose parents are nowhere to be found. Heatherriver rushes the kit back to camp. The kit is nursed back to health and promised a place in the Clan.
