Here's Part 5 of our interview series with @kaegraydance Previous parts in last 4 posts. Who are your tap influences and in what way have they influenced you? Kaelyn: "At different stages of my training I've gotten pulled into someone's world. Shirley Temple was a huge inspiration when I was really young. @christopherdanielerk definitely, who I feel was fully responsible for reigniting my passion and gave me direction. And he has also influenced my style and approach so much. Another great influence is @janasjason because he taught me the importance of self-practice. He's one of the most disciplined dancers I've ever met, constantly practicing and working on something 24/7. I've also always been influenced by Diane Walker, Heather Cornell and Barbara Duffy (@dufftap). They are legends in the tap dancing world. When I watch them, there's an eloquence about their tap dancing, and they remind me it's okay to be more feminine in my approach ( I'm a more heavy-footed tap dancer), which is not always an easy thing because I'm also a jazz and hip hop dancer and those styles make their way into my style of tap.
