Chuck looks over at Mike and then freezes, going bright red.

Mike blinks at him, tracks his fixed gaze to Mike’s bare chest and raises his eyebrows, smiling a little as he looks up again. Wow, the guy really needs to get out more. Mike’s okay-looking, yeah, but he’s pretty sure his physique isn’t jaw-dropping.

Chuck takes a minute to drag his eyes up to Mike’s face and turns away fast, shoulders hunching. “Oh god I’m so sorry,” he says, voice high-pitched and cracking, “I’m, I didn’t mean to be gross and creepy, I’ll try to, um–”

“Dude, chill,” Mike says, laughing a little. “It’s not like I mind being appreciated. Not sure what it says about your taste, though.”

Chuck throws a glance over his shoulder, but with so much of his face hidden behind disheveled bangs, Mike can’t read his expression. “Uh… huh,” he says. “Right, um, okay. Anyway.” He turns away again, lifting his voice a little. “I’ll need you to stand over here, with your back to me, please, and I’m–I’m gonna need to touch you to do the spell, is that… okay?”

“I mean, so long as you’re not groping me or anything,” Mike says, shrugging.

“No!” Chuck squeaks. “No groping!“
