Richard calls him Jamie I do not make the rules I just benefit from them

They are horrible gossips. Pearson is from Tennessee and Harkness is iffy with boundaries they talk about people constantly

I think Pearson is honestly pretty straightforward, especially if he’s irritated. He’s not one for dancing around an issue he has with something when he’s with friends or people he’s comfortable with, so he’s less concerned about whether things are “acceptable” to say and I think that’s specifically why he and harkness work. Richard likes to talk, sometimes to the detriment of his speaking partner and I think Pearson could either match that or say something about it really quickly into the relationship. Either way it works for them

They proofread each other’s work. Pearson likes to write poetry, and Harkness writes articles for his classes/job. They dedicate time to just switching drafts to read over the other’s.

They’re so giggly when talking to each other. If you didn’t know better, it would seem like they were making fun of you if you try to have a conversation with the two of them. They laugh so much it could seem like you’re missing an inside joke. You’re not. They’re just like that.

James has so many stories I think. Old people are really endeared to him so he’s just been able to collect them and they’re very entertaining. Richard lovesss them.

Richard cannot sing. James kind of can if he doesn’t do too much. He can carry a tune.

Specifically nurse Pearson or nursing student Pearson but they stay up together. Harkness is an insomniac To Me and Pearson takes his education seriously so he has to pull all-night study sessions. They stay up together in silence and the only noise in the room is the clicking of computer keys or the turning of pages. They finally crash on a shared couch after Pearson’s exam and when Harkness’ body finally allows him to rest. This happens at least once a month.

Richard’s the type who sends pictures of random things during his day that he thinks James would like. James likes animals so this works out. He gets a blurry picture of a pigeon at least once a day

I think Harkness has a junk journal and if Pearson finds something he deems interesting enough he’ll bring it back for him to add

Pearson is superstitious!!! He’s constantly course correcting the two of them when they walk together, so they don’t split the pole, or step on cracks. Richard puts in effort to pay a little more attention to his surroundings when he’s with him because of it. Everybody’s grateful about that part.

When Pearson first started crushing he watched all of Harkness’ letterboxd top 4 movies so they had more to talk about.

Funny thing is, I've always liked the ship, but I didn't think that much about them- until it randomly "clicked" to me overnight, apparently 🫠 and now I feel like we're kind of...sleeping on them, lol. ( also, something about the idea of poet x writer tickles me a lot, in a way✨️)

On a sadder note though, I realised some time ago that neither of those two has an explicit death scene in the book. Like, they both just happen to be...gone, at some point </3
