NO BUT REALLY.... laerion who would give anything to have his siblings back, not even because he doesn't want to inherit, but because he misses them as people. his brother's heart, his sister's wit, their smiles, he's felt alone for so long. the old poem about 'who can grow me a new brother?' and he's having to watch the main branch of his mother's family tear themselves apart and be their own slow ruin. what that must be doing to him. he's never been a resentful or haggard man, life's too short and far too wonderful for all of that, but it has to be eating him.
it should have been his mother. he's tired of his family lining up and falling like dominos for the rulers they never got to be. for people who can't even appreciate what they stand to lose.
