Kate: “It’s not meant to be realistic, it’s meant to be fun.”

AIOS: “Where does the ‘fun’ derive from?”

Kate: “Scoring more points than your opponent? Winning, basically.”

AIOS: “My opponent is a piece of software several orders of magnitude less sophisticated than my own; defeating it would not be an achievement.”

Kate: “Well, it’s more fun when you play against another person. Hey, maybe we should get a console!”

The following morning...

Kate: “AIOS...What are you doing?”

AIOS: “Cultivating my whimsical side.”

Kate: “Your what?”

AIOS: “I have been gathering information on what organics consider to be fun; juggling was among the listed suggestions.”

Kate: “Phew; for a moment I was afraid you’d decided that your purpose in life was to join the circus or something.”

AIOS: “I am considering it.”

Kate: “You’re joking, right?”

YEAH i just woke up too so my response might not be the most coherent thing in the world but i saw "he could be freely living in the house of a wanted criminal in another country with no adult supervision!" and i was like. ??? how do i respond to this. (also i’m assuming you meant like. offering friendship? i’m a little confused on your wording sorry!) but i think it would be sort of sad from an outside perspective just to see him struggling with the concept of it and why it would be offered to him. but from his perspective i think it’d just be awkward because he’d have no idea what to do with it or how to do it. like
