the reason link so desperately needs money for college is he didnt do th best ? in high school and couldnt get many scholarships (he got like 1 for $100 a year) and his parents were shitty abt him being gay and so refused to pay for any of his tuition and zelda (whos his sister in ths au i thnk) couldnt help him bc she was poor too so he basically has 2 pay for it all on hs own and its not too expensive i think its probably an instate school or somethin but. still tens of thousands of dollars so
