                                          a  girl  who  only  knows  how  to  break  things   ,   dingy  past  making  her  a  theorist  of  sorts   ,   testing  the  boundaries  of  all  relationships  platonic  and  romantic   ,   never  settling  for  anything  less  than  utter  destruction  to  prove  that  bonds  are  arbitrary   .   and  this  is  just  another  experiment  of  hers   ,   one  of  the  other’s  drawers  emptied  out  in  favor  of  placing  some  of  her  own  clothes  in  there   ,   a  new  bag  of  cosmetics  and  colorful  shampoos  resting  on  the  bathroom  counter  as  well   .   she’ll  turn  as  pianist  fingers  finish  tucking  another  blouse  into  her  self - declared  space   ,   meets  the  girl  with  a  dazzling  beam  that’s  usually  reserved  for  an  audience   ,   feigned  and  counterfeit   .       ‘       hey  !   hope  you  don’t  mind   ,   i  just  moved  some  things  in   .   i  know  we  didn’t  really  talk  about  it   ,   but  i’m  serious  about  us   .   aren’t  you  ?       ’       

                                           it’s  doubt  that  poisons  the  happy  mind   ,   a  serpent  permeating  the  soundest  of  places  until  chaos  is  wrecked  and  trust  is  broken   .   a  cold  shoulder  here   ,   barely  glances  there   ,   they’re  coworkers  if  one  pays  attention  to  technicalities   ,   nothing  more  and  nothing  less   ,   the  cerulean - colored  male  just  a  cog  in  the  machine  meant  to  make  the  other  shine   .   and  his  silence  is  deafening  within  the  confines  of  a  tiny  apartment   ,   more  forgotten  compositions  than  space   ,   turbulent  feelings  never  failing  to  be  reflected  in  his  inherent  lack  of  organization   .       ‘       you’re  late   ...   again   .       ’       tries  not  to  seem  upset   ,   fails  greatly   .   heavy  heart  has  already  latched  itself  to  what  they  have   ,   has  told  him  that  they  feel  the  same  way  about  each  other   ———   but  do  they  ?   it’s  here  when  doubt  drags  an  ugly  mass  through  the  front  door   ,   leaves  it  in  the  middle  of  the  room  as  it  festers  and  grows   ,   impossible  to  ignore  even  though  he  tries  his  hardest  to   .   he  really  does   .   the  question  lies  tantalizingly  on  the  tip  of  his  tongue   ,   fearful  of  the  answer  and  yet  all  too  needing  to  know   .       ‘       would  you  stop  what  you’re  doing  if  i  said  i  wasn’t  okay  with  it  anymore  ?       ’       

                                           desires  are  too  big  for  the  life  she  was  born  into   ,   greed  encompassing  the  soul  hidden  within  a  petite  frame  until  it’s  entirely  consumed   .   wealth   .   the  one  thing  her  existence  never  granted   ,   a  mother  she’s  ungrateful  for  nothing  than  a  lowly  housemaid   .   the  life  she  presents  to  others  is  fake   ,   heavily  edited  in  lieu  of  fitting  in   ,   intelligence  that  landed  her  inside  the  walls  of  a  prestigious  university  aiding  her  in  the  facade  she  manages  to  maintain  day  in  and  day  out   .   penny  is  only  another  pawn  in  her  game  of  credibility   ———   movies  have  told  her  rich  people  stick  together   ,   and  the  girl  has  spent  far  too  much  time  establishing  herself  among  the  wonderfully  naive  to  suddenly  grow  a  conscious   .       ‘       and  lastly   ,   this  is  the  kitchen   !       ’       turns  on  her  heel  with  a  whirl   ,   body  language  natural  as  if  it  really  were  her  own  home  and  not  the  quarters  of  her  mother’s  client   .       ‘       i  know  it’s  probably  nothing  in  comparison  to  your  house  but   ...   it’s  home  !   now   ,   do  you  want  something  to  drink  ?   water   ,   wine   ,   my  dad’s  gone  all  weekend  so   ...       ’
