Rei had lost track of the length of time he had been sitting at the table alone, the bustling restaurant going about its business all around him. He was supposed to be meeting his boyfriend for one of their scheduled date nights and the megane couldn't deny the fact that he had been looking forward to this, a welcome break from the mundane everyday life that he contended with each day. Biting down on his bottom lip, Rei checked the watch upon his wrist once more, he was almost an hour late and he was beginning to think that the other wouldn't turn up at all.
He could see the lingering looks from people around him, only serving to make the azure haired male feel even worse about the current situation he had found himself in. It was more than embarrassing to be stood up like this, especially by someone that he believed to care about him. Rei had lost count of the times he had told the waitress that his boyfriend would be joining him shortly so he would wait to order, however now he was beginning to think that waiting was futile.
Rei couldn't deny the fact that he was upset about this, his relationships thus far hadn't exactly been perfect and he believed that he had finally found someone that he would be able to spend the rest of his life with, obviously this was proving to not be the case in the slightest.
Glancing around the busy restaurant, Rei sighed softly to himself as he gathered his coat from the back of his chair. There really was no use in waiting any longer as it was only managing to embarrass and upset him even more. Deep down he knew that everyone around him must have realised what had happened and he didn't particularly want to stick around and receive any more of their pitying glances.
