Fred had made up his mind. The moment he’d found out what was happening, he knew he had to step in. Something was wreaking havoc on his city, and it was his job to save it. He was going to be the hero he’d always dreamed of. Before that, though, he had to check on the most important person in the city. He loved all of his friends, but Haven held a special place in his heart, and he would go to the end of the Earth to make sure nothing happened to her. All of his texts had gone unread, so obviously his only choice was to show up at her place. If she wasn’t there, he’d check the lab, the grocery store, anywhere else she may be until he found her and got her somewhere safe.
“Havey? It’s Fred,” he called from outside as he gave two loud, hard knocks, a quick glance over his shoulder to ensure he wasn’t being followed. “I’ll give you twenty seconds to open this door before I’m kicking it in.”
