Who/what inspired you to create your comic?

my favorite character to write and draw is wingstar, definitely. They’re the only one that’s actually fun to color. [REDACTED] (the new cat introduced last page) is a close second tho. They’re a little less fun to draw. I have big plans that definitely lead into the horror aspect coming for them. Wingstar is the most solid character I have though, so far.

as for inspiration, I first tried to make a comic a little more than a year ago, after reading fallenclan. Here are some photos lmao

so actually I'm stupid and haven't played very far ahead so pretty much all of the cats (so far) have been revealed. I literally just got the today but. I like this guy

Ren is my sweet raven boy!

He’s a member of the King’s elite guard, and basically the King’s magical little prodigy. His parents were killed and he was taken from his home at the ripe young age of six years old after having a magical outburst that literally oblitered everything within a fifteen foot radius. (I’m sure you could guess why. And yes, he’s an orphan, because I’m a sucker for found family and learning to love again plots.)

I should mention- in the world of Haven (with the current world-building I’ve got going on- this may change to something more realistic later) there are Aves, Reptilia, Amphibia, and the Piscine. Or: Ren is an avian. Except he’s got wings and patches of feathers and such. I’ve chosen a much more... stylistic approach to avians—they’ve all got tail feathers, where typical depictions of aves do not.

But you’re here for Ren! So I’ll continue:

Basically, the king had a son around the same time Ren was born, but because his son wasn’t a big, strong eagle, and he didn’t have magic, both he and his mother were scheduled for execution. But his mother gave him to a servant maid in the castle who smuggled him away before he could be killed. News is let out that both the Queen and the royal heir died in childbirth, to, you know, garter sympathy. Six years later, the king brings Ren into the castle, and everyone is terrified of him (for good reason.)

From there, Ren is raised to be the King’s secret weapon to maintain power and order within Avis. As he grows up, Ren starts seeing more of life outside the castle—he meets the heir, Aalim, who apparently has no idea he is the heir, and oh god- he’s gonna have to make sure this cute idiot doesn’t die, isn’t he? With Aalim, he learns more about the rebellion, and eventually, he begins realizing that maybe he isn’t on the right side. And maybe the king hasn’t been the best to him. And maybe he should do something, even if it means betraying everything he’s ever known.

If you’d like, I can explain more in depth later, but for now this story is in development! I’m not sure if I’d rather it be a webcomic or a written story, but it’ll get there!

I don’t want to say overly too much because I don’t know exactly how much you know, but I can tell you a few things that aren’t too spoiler-y to help you improve upon your theory.

It’s unlikely that Mara and William are two parts of the same being. There's enough evidence and implication to prove it wrong. But I can confirm that Mara/Audrey and William are not human. It’s highly likely that Jennifer and someone else aren’t as well, but I can’t say I’m 100% certain about those two. They are all from somewhere else..

Yes, the Barn was a prison of sorts but no, William was not put in the Barn; only Mara was. William was put somewhere else, which you will find out where in the finale.

Yes, Agent Howard was the one who captured Mara and William

Everything in Haven is chaotic at the moment, almost everyone are a wreck, they’re very desperate and emotionally distraught. Almost nothing good has happened so far in season 5, and it’s not likely to get much better for a quite a while.
