''For many months I struggled beneath the surface of existence. Continued disbelief of the reality retarded what might otherwise have cleared sooner. But gradually I came to the surface, and the sun on the primroses and the spring breeze stirring among the daffodils brought my senses gently alive again, and the future beckoned.''
- Nigel Tangye, a quote from his short story, titled 'Episode', which I'm reading in my edition of Haunted Cornwall that I picked up last time I was home.
Isn't this just the mood of the current season in Britain? Things starting anew. Not through any great personal effort but simply because they will.
