#hard turn

I got 8 fouettes!!!! Today during my ballet/pointe class we practiced fouettes. I did it flat footed (not on pointe). I didn't do that bad, which was quite surprising. It definitely boosted my confidence. Then during the intermediate ballet class, when their were doing their pointe barre, Katie, Sage, and I practiced fouettes on pointe. I was freaked out to try them. I thought that my calves were not strong enough to pull up on the turn. I just wanted to fall and get it over with. I knew that my head kept getting in the way and I would psych myself out. But I decided to just give it a go. Turns out I wasn't half bad!!! I got a few on each side which made me excited. I kept trying. I then got 5 on my right side!!!! (I have never gotten so many in a row). I kept going on both sides until I ended up getting 8 on my left side!!! You have no idea how happy that made me. It made my night! I have been working on them for years. It is one of the thing dancers do that is very complicated to get. My friend Katie got 14!!! (She is a good turner but she was ecstatic about it). I just have to keep it up next time but I am so happy to see work pay off. I still have a lot of work to do on them but this is definitely a start.
