Got more progress on the constellation quilt done. I now have about a third of the Milky Way done. This part if going much faster than I though it would.

Heyyo, I am starting the prep for the second constellation quilt. I know quite a lot of people love my Northern Stars quilt. This time I will be making the pair to it, the Southern Stars quilt by Haptic Labs. Which shows the constellations visible in the southern hemisphere. I will be making the large queen sized version of the quilt.
Just gathering up the last of the materials I will need before I can start working on it. First step will be ice dying the backing for the quilt.
The first of the quilting has begun!
Laid the constellation quilt out flat to marvel in the progress I have made. You can really see in sharp contrast the dark pattern left compared to the finished stitching. Which is about 10 skeins of embroidery thread deep into the project. Oh did I remember to mention previously that the colourway I am using is the glow in the dark one. It looks super cool in the dark.
Look at it, just fifteen more constellation to go and they will be done. Which will leave just the milky way section to do. I am loving how the glass beads add a twinkle to the quilt. They have a little silver in them so the light really plays nicely with it.
I am now about a third done with all the quilting in my constellation quilt. This has been a ton of fun to work on and I am very happy with how it is turning out. Will defiantly be doing the pair to this quilt of the southern sky.

I have reached a new milestone in the constellation quilt I have been working on since May. Having finished the grid, corner rays, and 21 of the 40 constellations! I am just over halfway through the constellations now. After this I will just need to do the milky way to finish all the hand quilting.
The patten is now in place over the quilt sandwich. Time to start stitching!
This is a lot of fun to work on. Trying to decide if I want to add a bead to the center of each star. Might need more beads if I do.
