HAPPIESTPLACEHQ TASK 7 - HEADCANONS
Shock was actually nicknamed “Psycho Saaiqa” by the other kids at the orphanage and in elementary school. She didn't mind the nickname too much, but she ended up managing to get the other kids to call her Shock, which she liked much more, by sheer determination (and some use of intimidation, too). Once the other kids started using her preferred name, the rest of her supervisors and teachers ended up following suit.
From the years 7 to 10, one of her main hobbies was using dolls (either her own or stolen from other girls) and altering them in whatever way was the most scandalizing and disturbing to others. This, along with her penchant for drawing graphic violence on school art projects, yelling detailed curses and obscenities, and generally having "a morbid imagination", has led her to be sent to the psychotherapist’s office quite a few times. While most of these dolls were taken away from her, Shock managed to keep a few when she was adopted and moved to Oz’s house.
She learned how to play the bass when she was 13. Her one and only is a black Yamaha TRBX 504, nice and sturdy, which was Oz's first reward for good behaviour and a job well done. To this day, she plays it almost nightly. It's her most prized possession.
Her first girlfriend, Louise, taught her how to ride a motorcycle back when Shock was 16. The one she has now, a vintage-style Royal Enfield, is her second most prized possession.
The only time she has been arrested by the RHPD was when she took the blame for a misdemeanor Louise had been responsible for. In that sense, Shock has never been actually caught by the police for something she did.
Shock has been gathering animal bones and owl pellets ever since she was allowed to roam the Redwood Hollow forest. Her collection now occupies three shoeboxes, which she keeps under her bed.
Her best friend in high school ended up fighting with her and never speaking to her again after Shock stole her boyfriend when they were sophomores. Breaking up with this friend felt more painful than her eventual breakup with the forgotten guy she dated for about three weeks.
She has been directing short horror films on her phone for several years now, though she often has difficulty finding crew members and actors to join her. Shock is currently trying to get them to be played at Carthay Cinemas, where she works.
Shock was never religious, but she had a Satanist phase when she was 14, during which she attempted several times to sell her soul to the devil, surrounded by candles and sitting on pentagrams she drew on the Redwood forest floor and that local mothers found on their morning jogs, to their great dismay. The small 2012 scandal of devil-worship in town is one of Shock’s greatest sources of pride.
Her rock band has changed names and members several times throughout the years, but generally speaking, Shock has a scattered network of other musicians that occasionally played with her, with Bailey Lightfoot being the most constant member.
Talking about Bailey, her favorite piece of jewelry that she refuses to take off is a coyote fang necklace that he gifted her when they were seventeen, the day they had their first kiss.
TATTOOS
Made with the good old homemade stick-and-poke technique, Shock has a spider, a scorpion, a cage, an open safety pin, a knife, a dice, a skull and a pentagram tattooed on her fingers, under her knuckles. She made all the ones on her left hand, while she only made one on her right. The rest were made by an inexperienced friend, so they’re not as neat and clean as the ones she made herself.
Made professionally by Bailey, Shock has a long lightning bolt tattooed over her back, on her spine, though she complains it looks less like a lightning bolt and more like the cracked surface of an egg.
Shock also has the words “I suffered, I learned, I changed" written in Arabic on her right forearm. She suspects it’s a mistranslation.

HAPPIESTPLACEHQ TASK 7 - HEADCANONS
All the bars in Redwood Hollow are happy to claim her as a regular customer: there is not one she particularly favors, so it’s hard to say in which one she might be found most often. Besides, Chelsea alternates her next choice by a seemingly random sequential order she has perfected, in order to keep any potential stalkers guessing.
At fourteen she beat the previous record on Frogger, after spending about seven hours playing non-stop, fueled only by her ambition, Pop-Rocks and Sprite. Beyond all the bars she frequents, Chelsea might also be spotted every now and then at Litwak’s arcade, trying to beat her own record.
Her retro sunglasses collection has reached the milestone of about fifty pairs. Her affinity for them almost lead to developing a shopping addiction back in 2017.
A cat lover at heart, she’s the proud mama of three little fur babies: Sterling, Holloway, and Soup the Third. Only Soup the Third lives with her, as the other two are neighborhood strays that come and go to her home as they please.
Her number two favorite show is Murder She Wrote. Her number one favorite TV show is The Muppets. The best muppet, of course, is Gonzo.
Having taken piano classes since she was six years old, and developed a strong appreciation for it, Chelsea is very much fond of music and musicians. While never thinking much about her own skills, she did nurse fanciful dreams of being a rockstar back in her youth.
Ever since running away from home at age seventeen she’s been estranged from her parents, who moved out of Redwood Hollow in 2016. She only keeps in tentative touch with her younger sister, Jenny, the apple of the Katz’s eyes, with which she used to have a friendly albeit extremely competitive rapport.
Chelsea has been clean of anything stronger than booze and weed for the last ten years.
Her birthday is the 1st of June, the release date of The Beatles’ seminal album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, commonly understood to be a stepping stone of the psychedelic movement.

“ Dear, dear! How queer everything is to-day! And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think: was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is, Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle! ”
Lewis Carroll - Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
One: While Alice isn’t clumsy, they are scatterbrained and pay very little attention to where they’re going when stuck in a daydream, which has lead to a number of injuries over the years. They have broken their right arm twice, and their left wrist once.
Most significantly, when Alice was seven years old they fell down what was assumed to be a rabbit hole, hitting their head and in turn landing themself in the hospital with a severe concussion. They were kept in for a week after suffering slight memory loss, brain fog and loss of coordination.
Alice was admitted again a few months later, at age seven and a half, when it was thought that they were suffering long term side effects from the concussion (namely hallucinations and delusions). It was quickly found out that this was unrelated to the concussion, and was brought on by the onset of the flu and a very high fever. (Their sister says they haven’t been right since, but Alice just thinks she’s being mean.)
-
Two: Alice has a pet cat named Dinah. Their grandmother also had a cat named Dinah, after which Alice named this Dinah, because they had the same white mitten paws, and blue eyes.
-
Three: Alice’s favourite food is French Fancy cakes. They buy one every time they pass the bakery. They have a slight allergy to certain mushrooms, and their parents have outright banned them from consuming coffee or highly caffeinated drinks because it makes them talk a whole lot of nonsense and stops them from sleeping at a reasonable hour.
-
Four: Alice is non-binary. They had multiple identity crisis’ while growing up, feeling like they were never the same person from one day to the next, sometimes feeling like a little girl, sometimes like a boy, and, more often than not, Just Alice. The onset of puberty was a horrible time for Alice, who never felt quite right with their changing body, with societies expectations of them, or with any gender that they sat in as a result. They discovered the term Non-Binary when they were about sixteen, and after asking a lot of questions in online forums, it seemed to describe exactly what Alice was feeling.
“- 'Who are YOU?' said the Caterpillar. “I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”
HAPPIESTPLACEHQ Task 7 - Headcanons
Has been diagnosed with astigmatism at age eleven, and owns a pair of reading glasses, though she no longer knows where they are. Sofia hasn’t used them in years, and never wore them in public, out of fear of being mocked or considered ugly for wearing them.
Is a big fan of opera music, but feels like this affinity of her is weird, old-fashioned or ‘cringe’, so she avoids sharing it with others. Most of her affection for it comes from the old records of her mother singing, the great soprano Bông Lê Hoa, made famous by her roles in La Forza Del Destino, as Leonora, and in La Traviata, as Violetta. Her father had originally paid for her to attend singing classes due to the young girl’s interest in following her mother’s footsteps, but her consistent stage panic prevented her from ever continuing that path.
Her favorite movie ever is, following her old-fashioned, rather unusual tastes, The Adventures of Robin Hood, from 1938. Sofia used to be completely enamored with Maid Marian as portrayed by Olivia de Havilland (possibly her first crush?), and her passion for medieval history can be directly traced to her love for this movie. She even had a short-lived interest in learning archery, which she quickly outgrew when she consistently failed to even fully stretch the training bow.
Sofia is quite fluent in French and has a basic knowledge of German, the latter of which was self-taught in her preparation for her fantasy trip to the Black Forest, where her parents were married. She’s now currently perfecting her German and beginning to learn Bulgarian as well, completely through free internet videos.
Despite her age and smaller build, Sofia can hold her liquor quite well; ever since she was little she was allowed to take a few sips from the Bạch-orchard-produced cider. She has a good ability to distinguish a good quality cider from a cheap or badly made one, and even has some knowledge of wines and their types from listening to her father and her stepmother’s comments on the family’s private reserve.
Even as, herself, isn’t truly interested in the future prospect of having children (she remembered her schoolmates chatting over how many kids they would have in the future, and what their names would be), Sofia does have a very maternal side, and likes interacting with kids. She worked part-time as a nanny to buy her dearly beloved binoculars, though for just a year since she had trouble managing her schedule, what with her studies and her chores back at home. Still, even during recesses in high school, when she sat by the shade of the courtyard tree to sketch birds and leaves, the children from the younger classes would often flock around her and watch as she drew on her sketchbook.
Her birthday is the 23rd of May, the date when the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs movie was released.
