Since elf’s live a pretty decent life, I thought before the baking she was in a monastery, learning the monk ways, trying to find her way. After a couple of decades being a monk really didn’t give her the same feel when she was younger.
She loved baking with her mother before the monastery. Opening a bake shop after learning all she could she had people all over the sword coast coming for her baked goods.
Bakery called: Lusha’s Sugar.
I also headcanon Astarion’s eyes before he turned to be a light brown/Hazel. Warmed honey when the sun hits them just right.
When Astarion was taken Lusha and his mother confided in each other. Star’s father died years before in a war. So it was just Star and his mom. They used the bakery as a hangout some place to go, to socialize and get some sweet treats.
Star’s favorite baked goods from there were these oatmeal chocolate chip sea salt cookies. His mother used any excuse to come into the shop and see Lush and get the goods.
Lusha loves her customers, seeing them happy with any cookies or cakes she made. The her bread people would be lining up before she even opened.
She got to see Star for the soft, kind man he was before he was turned into a spawn and into a victim of survival.
