What and Who is Hangar Artist Residency exactly? 1/3
A few days after informing the artists of the result of the final selection process we were invited to make a "Tour" through the Hangar studios.
Joana Cerviá did a great, funny and informative introduction.
Explaining what is what, who is who and a bit of history of the building, the area of “Poble Nou” and Hangar itself.
I was overwhelmed when I got notified to be accepted. But not as much as when I came to see the possibilities that HANGAR just opened up to me:
1
@MarcoNorris @joanacervia @ciprianhomrodean at the space reserved for extraordinary projects or the international short term residents:
2
Workshop of Pure Data, Arduino, open software and Robotica.
EVERY THURSDAY you can also join the open space with BEFACO, bring and discuss your project from 16h to 19h.
BEFACO is a permanently installed collective at Hangar.org organizing DIY workshops for synthesized moduls!!!
3
There‘s another workshop for, I would call it earthly materials: Wood, metal, plastic etc. worn by @pense:
4
There are two laser plotters (one is dead I think) to be used for the price of the ink.
4
A 3D Printer:
5
A lab for digital image guided by @sergibotella:
6
Audio and Video Blackboxes for image and sound editing:
Oh man, just writing this down I am getting all excited again! I am sure I will leave something out. Sorry in advance!
Let’s go upstairs and see the artist studios.
There are 14 spaces for 18 artists:
At this moment there are these talented people in residency:
Giuliana Racco and Matteo Guidi, Ariadna Guiteras, Andrea Gomez, Marco Noris, Marc Serra, Ciprian Homrodean, Christina Schultz, Diego Paonessa, Lucia Pino, Mario Santamaria, German Portal
The kitchen:
The hallway, reunion room and YES, that is a ping pong table in the back!
And here’s my lovely shared space with Megan Michalak, who still has to arrive.
This was at the very beginning:
And this is how it looks so far:
