#handpainted textures

My original concept from the summer project was a convenience store located somewhere in South America. Although this composition was interesting to me at the time, I thought I would take the idea of a convenience store and find images that were a little more dynamic and interesting than a plane building. I liked the idea of doing a convenience store that is located on the bottom floor of an apartment or flat so that you get a little glimpse of the kind of people who may own the store, or where this store might be located. After looking through several kinds of shops located in both urban and rural dirt road areas, I found a few images that best reflected the kind of direction I wanted to take my concept. I began drawing up some silhouettes that further helped me narrow the sort of shape I was after, and then began adding further detail through some concept designs over those silhouettes. Once I decided on the shape and design I liked, I started looking for hand painted textures that might best fit the kind of aesthetic I am going for. I hope to incorporate original hand painted textures throughout my model when it is completed, although I do anticipate changes will be made along the way.
