His avant-garde jewels always stop me in my tracks! Adventurous in mixing and matching different materials and design elements while using cutting-edge metal technology in the production of his jewels, plants and insects are subjects he returns to time and time again, earning him international acclaim from both collectors and auction houses. In his fantasy world, flowers have a soul and character. Exceptionally intricate and vibrantly colourful, the different shapes and beautiful colours converge upon these magical jewels. Among the highlights of Mr Tsai's work in 2020 is a new piece called Blue Anthurium (featured second), which took more than six months to complete. Set with close to 1,000 gemstones, the impressive piece measures 15.5cmm x 8.5cm. The metalwork is titanium, which enables Mr Tsai to create large and impressive jewels that are also lightweight. In addition to the lightness of the titanium and the fact that it can be matched to the colour of the gemstones, Mr Tsai's work also focuses on technical performance.
