Busy working on my ongoing project this morning, 1 stitch at a time 🧶 It’s quite amazing working with the waistcoat stitch in crochet, seeing how the crochet stitch turns into what appears to be a “knitted” looking stitch. Although it’s interesting to work with, it is also rather slow to work with unless worked in the round as I’ve discovered. The way it is crocheted differs depending on whether you crochet in rows or in the round(it’s far more straightforward in the round!) So it’s keeping me busy as I continue to work out these outfits for the large project I was commissioned to do earlier in the year. Many late nights and lots of trial and error with the ribbing to make it work to my liking (finally wrote up a flat rib that allows these wonderful buttons to sit properly!) but this pattern for my overseas project is coming together now finally. It has been a little slower than expected as I am just getting used to the waistcoat stitch, and this outfit has a lot of individual stitches to crochet! but I'm pleased that my speed has improved so I'm feeling positive about the remaining order when I get started :).
