y'all, my dad MADE me a rigid heddle loom... it's beautiful and amazing. I'm floored. There will be pictures etc later.

My loom has arrived!! (It came by event-mail* so it took about a week and a half.)
Handmade in 1989. 22" 4-shaft table loom with floor stand, shuttle, and bobbins.
Never be afraid to offer barter: I couldn't afford the cash asking price, but the seller lives in a city. I got this beauty for eggs and fruit.
It'll probably be a couple of months before I have time to start learning how to use this (thanks planting season. I appreciate you but also what spare time/energy?) and I'm really looking forward to it!
Got a favourite "learn how to weave" resource? I'd love to hear from you!
At some point I'd like to start making use of my various handspun yarn with this.
*if you've never been in the SCA, event-mail is the process of getting something from A to B by handing it to someone else who's headed in that direction. They will likely hand it off to someone else before it arrives. It may spend several weeks in a third or fourth party's garage.
