“I didn’t think you’d mind”
So I wrote this for my best friend, based on one of the sentences from this post.
Ship: John Hancock/Sole Survivor (SS is refered to by ‘they’) Word Count: 787
(This might be OOC, but I haven’t traveled with Hancock all that much, plus I haven’t written in forever. Please be easy on me.)
“I didn't think you'd mind”
“Hancock? Are you alright?” Soles eyebrows knitted and their facial features shifted to a more worried look. Hancock stood in the door of the office room of the Old State House, black eyes scanning the room, obviously trying to make out something he couldn't find. A few long moments passed, before his eyes focused on Sole again.
“Well.”, he started, taking a short pause, obviously considering his words. “I am, but what did you do to my office” The ghoul sighed and rubbed his temples, advancing further into the room. Quick steps took him to his office table, so he could settle behind it. He furiously opened and closed the drawers, meeting Souls eyes again once he finished. “Mind telling me where you put my jet?” There was a certain unease in his voice, that Sole couldn't remember hearing before, since the mayor rarely cared enough to let any kind of concern appear in his voice. They had to hold back a laugh at the fact, that he seemed so distressed about the absence of his favorite drugs. Placing a hand on his shoulder, feeling the old and rough fabric under their fingertips, they shook their head a bit. Black, shining eyes meeting theirs, widen in shock and incredible worry.
“Don't tell me you-” “Hancock.”, Sole interrupted, unable to hold back the chuckle in his chest. “They aren't in your drawers, or at least not in those. They are in dresser over there. Neatly sorted by kind and amount.” The proud smile on their lips shone brighter than the sun, blinding Hancock so much, he needed to squint at them. Of course it was also possible, that he squinted at them out of pouty anger, but Sole liked to imagine it was the first one. It gave them a feeling of satisfaction about what they did. After a relieved sound left the ghouls mouth, he was the one shaking his head at his companion, brushing off their hand and putting his hands at his hips, turning around himself slowly. “So why did you do this again, brother?”, his voice wasn't worried anymore, but Sole wasn't sure if the surprise, that replaced the previous emotion, was a positive or a negative sign. They couldn't think of anything but shrugging. “Your office was rather dusty, unorganized and, well, you know what I mean”, their eyebrows raised a bit, another smile creeping on their lips. “And since you thought, I wasn't necessary to check up on the Supermutant-situation with you and Fahrenheit, I figured, I could clean up a bit. There wasn't really something to do anyway.”
Scamming the room themselves, they had to admit that it looked quiet different from before. They had wiped the dust, cleaned the floor and windows, arranged the furniture and organized everything after all. It took quiet some time and they'd gotten weird looks by the bodyguards walking by the door. They must have looked like Snow-white cleaning the house of the seven dwarfs. “I mean you did a good job.”, Hancock had to admit that, but was quiet surprised that Sole was even capable of cleaning “But do me a favor and never do that again.” Adjusting his hat, he leaned against his table, looking into the Sole Survivors eyes once again, a certain seriousness in look and voice. All he earned was an apologetic look by his loyal companion. “I didn't think you'd mind. It's not like I threw out anything.” That was a lie. they threw out quite a few useless papers, not that they planned on confessing.
This time it was Hancocks turn to laugh and he pushed himself off the table, carefully placing his hands on Soles hips, stroking them with his thumbs. “I really appreciate what you did here. And with that I mean I try to. I don't like to repeat myself, but I will to make sure it stays in your beautiful head: Don't do this ever again.” The playful thread in his voice made them chuckle again and he couldn't resist giving him a fast kiss on the cheek. “Hey. I'm serious here. I like my organized chaos, don't take an advantage of me being serious for once” “Oh so that's what you call serious, huh?” “Yea. I do.”, he squinted at them again, the smile on his face never fading though. “And now give me a kiss, you idiot. You didn't even tell me that you missed me yet.” Leaning in, their lips met in a slow and careful kiss, that stayed sweet and innocent. After parting their lips, they pressed their foreheads together. “I missed you Hancock.” Another short sweet kiss. “So how was beating up those Supermutants?”
