but before that point, id already had a fascination with both syo and teruteru the moment i was introduced to them in their respective games. so, it was just a matter of time until id start daydreaming about them both and their interactions. ive always adored thinking about the different dynamics theyd have in pre and post despair canon.. so im gonna ramble on about that for a little pre despair hanasyo to me has a much more carefree feeling to it (it also isnt strictly bound by dr canon, so it can get more silly). the two playfully flirting with each other at any given chance (and toko caught in the middle of it all since shes now stuck with her alters pervy bf). they still have their cute, lovey dovey moments of course. especially because i view teruteru as a very, very sappy guy once hes in a relationship. hes really just trying his best to keep up with his whirlwind of a gf, shes always on the move and doing things. syo can be equally overwhelmed by how much damn love shes getting from that boy during despair hanasyo has a more gritty(? if thats the right word) and serious vibe. i dunno exactly how despair teruteru would end up in towa city since it wouldnt make much sense for him to be there, but hes there for the sake of the ship! hed eventually crosses paths with komaru and toko, and like in the very art that inspired hanasyo, a fight ensues. syo and despair teruteru meet and its love at first fight! their love language is fighting till theyre both knocked out. constantly butting heads whenever they come across each other and pretty much wanting each other dead.....in a romantic way. theyre enemies AND lovers. super silly, and the reasoning for their meeting doesnt make too much sense, but very beautiful to me

anyways thats pretty much all i got! my brains already a little frazzled so i didnt wanna write too much, but thats a look into my thought process on hanasyo. ill consider writing more down about them after i get off work and have a much clearer head. mostly headcanon stuff and fluff

— "Switch with me bitch, I have a date!" Despite Syo and Toko constantly butting heads, they both respect each other's time and what they want to do during it. Designated times, planned out dates, Syo has many opportunities to front on her own or to go on dates with Teruteru. — "T-Tell your boy toy to control himself..!" (Lover bites #1) Toko is getting a little tired of the aftermath of Syo and Teruteru's dates.. Said aftermath being many, many hickeys all over her body... — (Foodie cuties #1) She's dating a cook, the ultimate cook.. or, chef. Whatever the hell Teruteru wants her to call him. Of course she's going to ask him to make her whatever she's craving. — "Please don't leave me.." Syo has some pretty bad abandonment issues, stemming from Toko's neglect. But with how caring and loving Teruteru has been to her, she feels more secure. Stable. — Damn that boy... Teruteru, the handsome boy Syo cannot bring herself to kill off. "It's like a pet, I keep him 'round cus' I got attached." It was in fact not because she simply got attached to this "pet". It took a bit of time for her, even after they became an official couple, to fully accept these feelings. — Nicknames! #1 Fat boy, Pervert. Are these really nicknames..? Bitch. Okay, these aren't nicknames. Syo means well, but her unconventional nicknames for Teruteru sound more like insults to those not in the know.

Teruteru Hanamura

— "Whatever you want, my thorny rose!" (Foodie cuties #2) And that boy is all too happy to oblige his girlfriend's requests. Cooking is his specialty, and one of his love languages. Every new dish he makes, Syo is always the first to try 'em! Plus, a surprise dinner here, a gifted dessert there, it sends his heart a flutter to see his lover enjoy his passion. — (Lover bites #2) After a good scolding from Toko, and a much softer scolding from Syo, Teruteru has vowed to stop the damn biting.. or, at least leave them in less obvious spots next time. — Such a respectful young man. Idea inspo from @archsimp! Ty for the brain blast Teruteru, despite his usual perverted and joking ways, is incredibly respectful towards Syo. He cares deeply for her as his first serious romantic partner, but is so much more to him than that. His mother always wanted him to find someone of his own, and treat them with all the respect in the world. Because if he didn't..? She'd somehow come after him. He's a very dedicated and attentive partner as well, not just with his gift giving and cooking, but also in his words and actions. Constant words of affirmation, lots of physical touch (hugs, kisses, hand holding). — Nicknames #2 My thorny rose, Sweetie or Sweetie pie, Doll, Love... He has many, many more nicknames for Syo, he uses them all equally and constantly. It is annoyingly endearing.

— The two are very outwardly flirtatious towards each other. — "They almost act more like close friends than lovers." perfectly sums up some of their behaviour. — PDA warriors; Constantly touching or holding each other to be as physically close to each other as possible. They've also jokingly smacked each others asses while passing each other in the halls. Kiyotaka has constantly scolded the two for this. Syo likes to pick up Teruteru and carry him around like a bag. It is very amusing, and Teruteru is all too happy to be in his girlfriends arms. He's a huge sucker for how strong she is.
