had to research some Stuff but βοΈ i think hameed would associate mikuo with hydrangeas, specifically lacecap hydrangeas ... blue hydrangeas symbolize gratitude and understanding. hameed is eternally grateful to mikuo for making japan a home for him (mikuo is eternally grateful to hameed too but he doesnt know it hehe) and for being one of the only people to understand him so much. also they grow near coastal areas where the two of them grew up so seeing them always reminds him of mikuo hehe
as for hameed, tiger lilies remind mikuo of him :] mostly bc how showy those flowers are and that in itself is very hameedcore but tiger lilies also mean confidence, pride, strength and beauty which are very hameed hehe. apparently theyre used as a focal point in ikebana arrangements too which is interesting bc as much as hameed gives off main character energy, he really prefers to cheer people on from the sidelines
as to how these flowers interact im not quite sure but i can bullshit an explanation ... the hydrangeas are easy bc what they symbolize is reciprocated btwn the 2 of them (gratitude and understanding) but for the tiger lily .. it may seem a lil specific to hameed but i can see it as hameed seeing mikuo as the center of his world and how it being a focal point of flower arrangements in japanese flower arranging as mikuo's whole idol thing. same with the confidence etc etc stuff bc when mikuo's on stage, hes like a completely different person - as if hes channeling hameed's energy to carry him onto his beloved stage

oughhh definitely the band stuff ... as much as hameed hates looking back at that particular point in time, he also wished it couldve gone better. they both wished that the band worked out and maybe by now, they wouldve been standing on stage together. they couldve wrote more songs together about each other, writing each other unspoken confessions like tossing around a ball of paper to each other in a classroom and trying not to get caught chatting through it. even though theyve accepted that it's for the best and they like the path they ended up now bc of the band breaking up, they think a happy ending could also have been at the end of that other branch

to mikuo, it is like the blooming of cherry blossoms in the springtime; refreshing, heart-pounding and beautiful. but ultimately something to only admire from afar. he loves the feeling but he never gives himself hope of them being reciprocated. it does have to do with him being gay but, while he doesnt think so lowly of himself, he just doesnt think someone would ever look at him that way. hes not that kind of person. just like cherry blossoms, he is someone you might like in the springtime but you would forget about come summer
to hameed, it's like a fire that threatens to swallow him alive. when he falls, he falls. and his heart had belonged to mikuo ever since the day he fell. but once his heart settles nicely in the palm of that person's hand, he feels like he is warming up by a cozy fire. the heat from love keeps him grounded but also fuels him to always put in 200% effort to love and support that person

so mikuo stops by hameed's workplace to apologize to him. hameed takes him into the stockroom so that their conversation isnt listened in on. mikuo apologizes for breaking their promise but tells him that it's important that he expresses his feelings that way and hameed also apologizes for lashing out at him but he says that he doesnt understand why mikuo had to bring back such a painful part of his adolescence for it
mikuo confesses that he never saw the band as a painful memory but as a positive one. he does feel guilty and apologize for being selfish and for thinking that hameed would think like him. hameed, pinning mikuo homoerotically to the wall, asks him if theres a reason why he find that memory beautiful. mikuo doesnt say that it's bc thats how he fell in love with hameed for the first time. instead, he says that he cant tell hameed. ofc hameed is like why not and mikuo's like i just cant and before hameed could press his further mikuo runs out, cursing at himself for being such a coward that he ends up hurting his best friend
hameed feels guilty too ofc, for feeling so hurt over smth that happened a long time ago but he acknowledges if he doesnt calm down, he'll hurt mikuo again. at least hameed comes home to their apartment. even if hameed barely says anything to mikuo, mikuo's just glad that hes back and safe and sound. but mikuo doesnt know what to do, so he resorts to calling his sister, miku
miku's like wow our manager did smth like that except none of us knew it was him except for like kaito bc hes gay and mikuo's like ??? also miku's like thats kinda fucked up dude we already said not to bring the band up and once again mikuo apologizes for not thinking it through but miku doesnt take it as hard as hameed did. miku gives him advice, saying that he should confess already instead of beating around the bush since doing that landed him in this mess anyway. mikuo's like nooo he probably hates me now even if he doesnt i cant it'll just ruin things and miku's like dude. you already did by performing that song you might as well just confess it cant get any worse. also our manager is literally dating kaito rn im telling you you have a chance LOL
in the end mikuo decides to folow miku's advice and asks hameed if they can talk. hameed, all calmed down and level-headed now, agrees and they have an open conversation on their balcony, looking over the beautiful tokyo nightlife. they both apologize again and finally forgive each other. then, noticing the moon in the sky, mikuo says it looks beautiful. just like hameed did when they visited the beach before. hameed agrees and then mikuo blurts out his actual confession: i've been in love with you ever since we started the band
hameed is speechless ofc but he reciprocates his feelings. he jokes abt being in love with mikuo for less years compared to mikuo but he still yearned for years to be with him; even if they can never be together, he'll always support him and follow him to the ends of the earth. hameed cups mikuo's face and they share their first kiss, framed by the moon
