Hahaha! No really, that's rather insane for a 2 day trip. I was surprised myself. And I haven't even counted the mobile photos. But there were so much to take photos of! Hamburg is a cool city. And they have Phantom.

A bit more Hamburg proscenium: the statues on the right side.
So, the view from row 10, seat 9 at Neue Flora. Great view. The chandelier drops 2-3 rows closer to the stage, and a bit more towards the middle, if anyone's heading for that. Also, to my big surprise, they don't use the original Hamburg proscenium. The woman doing the guided tour said this one came from Madrid (I.E. Mexico/Spain/Brazil/Argentina). And then… doesn't this mean the proscenium in use in Hamburg is the original Toronto one?!? I think it does. The garlands on top are different, but otherwise it match, and someone in the Brazilian production said what they used were from Toronto. So, if this is correct… this is a piece of history moving from one iconic production to another! Ironically they had the original Hamburg Golden Angel hanging at side stage (backstage). "For good luck". :) The chandelier is not the original Hamburg one either. They didn't know where it came from (the ones I asked, I mean). Because of the curved top of the lyre my guess is Switzerland, AKA the one that had a brief appearance in Copenhagen. But I need to look closer into it.

madamecuratrix and the other asking about the Hamburg souvenir brochure: I'd be happy to buy you one. They're gorgeous, fab production photos, heavy, awesome. Buuuut they're crazy expensive - €18. I have four on my block so far (with the two above), I think that's about what I can afford and what I can carry, with hand luggage and all. But if there's anyone loosing their meaning of life if they don't get one, PM me and I'll see what I can do. And to you starting you-know-what tonight: I'll be cheering so hard! :)
Tonight's cast. Mathias Edenborn called out sick some hours before the show, so als. David Arnsperger is on. He is fine stuff. Also having alt. Lauri Brons (more fine stuff) and u/s Madame Giry Mona Graw. Rest are principals. Rachel Anne Moore is epic on two legs. Most expressive Carotta I've ever seen. Nicky Wuchinger as Raoul is also fab. And visually some of the best I've seen in ages. It's like Maria Bjørnson's design just stepped out of the pages. More to come. Cause now... Masquerade!
