These Halysidota moths are too busy to notice that their perch is an American toad [Anaxyrus americanus], a species that would normally make a meal out of them. This unusual scene was spotted by Joanne Russo on a warm summer night in Rockingham, Vermont.

Fungus can be bugs, if they'd like. And I think they would.
From the top: common green June beetle, Arion slug, Arion slug again but this time at a different angle (glamour shots!), Halysidota tussock moth caterpillar, changeable mantleslug, and another changeable mantleslug (is it the same one or a different guy?).
