hi there! could we please get an opinion? thank you x
Sure you can, darling! Iâm going to start with the icon, which is pretty clearly two people in private school uniforms - so the plot probably has something to do with schools? My only suggestion is to make the icon a square so the people arenât as cut off, or make it an icon where their heads can pop out (kinda like the flowers in my icon). To continue on, letâs take a look at the theme! This specific theme is getting really popular lately (itâs cute so I can understand why). Itâs also a very organized theme, which I like. I would, personally, replace the icon with the two girls laughing with something more centered, because even in their little circle - itâs cut off and a little hard to see them. And the stark light gray room of the second icon, to me, doesnât match the beige, pink, and darker/stony gray of the rest of the color scheme. But, it still looks nice and sets up the âacademyâ type roleplay. For the navigation of the theme, I would suggest adding the plot to location where the guidelines are - that just makes it so the plot is read first by those who are getting around the blogs, and not reading the guidelines before they even get to the plot! I also think you should set up a mobile navigation link in your description to help those who need to access the rest of the blog when they are not on a desktop/laptop. Otherwise, the links are organized in the way I would typically click through. I might just move the âwanted connectionsâ and âtaken fcâ links before the apply link. And move the ooc list to after the application link.
Next is the plot! I really like that you wrote it in the style of an acceptance letter from the principal. Itâs a unique style to write the plot in, as far as school rps go. I think for being simple, this is a really elegant school rp! My main suggestion, as far as the plot goes, is to add more detail. You could explain the campus a bit more, what kind of buildings are there, whatâs the historic value of the land? What were the requirements for this student to get in? Is it a boarding-type school? I think that extending it and giving me more detail on the school itself would make me feel a lot more interested and invested in the plot. I also really like the idea of the tiered system in the school, the access to certain privileges. To me it seems to easy to get to the first tier, though, all someone would have to do is work hard in class - while in the other tiers, the students are subjected to also needing an extracurricular activity. So, I would reverse it and make it hardest to get to the first tier. Maybe it would require the students having two extracurricular activities, an A average, and honors based classes. While to be on the lowest tier, all youâd need is anything below a D average or below, no extracurricular, and possibly students are put on a Fourth Tier probation if theyâre caught doing something against the rules of the school? That would, to me, seem more likely than the system already set up. Also, it might be a nice addition to the rp to have the âstudentsâ set up a class schedule. That way, when you do tier changes the specific task you give them may be related to one of their classes (like, if youâre in a Psychology class, a tier-change task could be the student must interview their fellow students, in a para or otherwise, on a certain psychology concept. Or the student might have to perform some social experiment at a party in the school). This would make the plot drops with tiers a lot more interactive with the school itself, and encourage students to do well in their âclassesâ. I think on this page you should also list the penalties for each tier if they break something from their tier. I wanted to commend you on the adorable location page you made! The graphics are beautiful and the information is great. I would suggest that you make the edit to this sentence âAlthough the outside might call of victorian era and old money,â to âAlthough outsiders may call the school of the Victorian era and old money.â  Also, âwhole ânother worldâ doesnât really make sense, it should just be âwhole other world.â By adding the apostrophe and the n, youâre shortening âanotherâ which the words âwhole another worldâ doesnât quite make sense. Anyways, I still think this page is very nice and good job in the whole worldbuilding side of things.
Thatâs all on the plot, but now Iâll go over rules in the section. I was a little confused about this rule, âiâd prefer if you used small gifs, to gif icons, or static icons, please.â Do you mean that you wouldnât mind if all three were used, or do you just prefer the small gifs? If you just prefer the small gifs I think the rule should read like, âitâs preferred that youâd use small gifs, instead of the latter of gif or static icons.â And, is it still allowed to use these media platforms? The other thing I have to say about the rules, is I think you really can separate the rule of banned fcs and the rule of ooc drama. It helps to organize the rules better. On the topic of ooc drama, you donât really discuss the penalty if it occurs? That might be something nice to add in. But, not necessary. I think that you should mention whether or not you allow suggestions to the banned fcs list on your rules page as well. Otherwise your rules are basic and cover the rp very nicely. As for your application, I like the addition of the TV Trope information, I rarely see it used anymore. This is just your basic appless character set up, though. I definitely think that you could develop this into a full app or semi-appless roleplay, though! Iâll finish with your checklist, which is absolutely fine. I think youâve got a very organized way to introduce players into the rp! So, nice job there.
So, my final thoughts are that this is a really nice academy rp! I havenât seen one like this in quite a while, and I was glad to check this out. I think this whole tier system is really unique, and will probably be the main catch that draws everyone in! So, itâs nice that you have that little twist on it. Good luck!
