Halloween Creatures Tag
How this tag works; you are given a word and a sentence that correlates to that word. You are to assign a book or a character from a book that you think fits the description. You must be completely honest. I tag everyone who wants to do this to do this. Obviously spoiler warnings.Ā
Witch- A magical character or book: The first magical wizard to pop into my head is Nicholas Perevil fromĀ āThe Witch Hunterā by Veronica Boeker. I love him to d e a t h.Ā
Werewolf- The perfect book to read at night:Ā āMs. Peregrineās Home for Peculiar Childrenā by Ransom Riggs. Itās creepy, but not so scary itāll give you nightmares. Such an amazing book.
Frankenstein- A book that really shocked you:Ā āThe Knife of Never Letting Goā by Patrick Ness. There wasnāt necessarily a huge plot twist, but it was so drastically different than any of Nessās other works that it shocked me. Everything I didnāt expect (in a good way).
The Devil- A dark, evil character: Trellis fromĀ āAmuletā by Kazu Kibuishi. I donāt think Iād consider Trellis *evil*, but he is definitely a dark, creepy character.
Grim Reaper- A character that never should have died: I couldnāt choose between 2, so Uriah fromĀ āDivergentā by Veronica Roth, and Snape fromĀ āHarry Potterā by J.K. Rowling. (I will literally fight anyone, Snape was the best character in Harry Potter.)
Zombie- A book that made you hungry for more:Ā āThe Witch Hunterā by Veronica Boeker. (I know I keep going on about this book, I apologize lmao. This wonāt be the last time either.)
Gargoyle- A character youād protect at all costs: THIS is the last time I bring upĀ āThe Witch Hunterā, I promise. George fromĀ āThe Witch Hunterā, and Simon Snow fromĀ āCarry Onā by Rainbow Rowell. (I couldnāt pick sksksk)
Vampire- A book that sucked the life out of you:Ā āA Monster Callsā by Patrick Ness. I relate so closely to the story, and I think Patrick Ness did an astounding job at describing and illustrating (figuratively AND literally) what itās like to lose a loved one from cancer.
Ghost- A book that still haunts you: The first book that popped into my mind I completely forgot the title and the author, so Iāll go with my second choice, which isĀ āOut of my Mindā by Sharon Draper.
Skeleton- A character you have a bone to pick with: 100% Regine fromĀ āMore Than Thisā by Patrick Ness. She really annoys the ever living shit out of me and I donāt know why. Maybe because she reminds me of myself ksksksk.
Demon- A book that really scared you:Ā āThe Black Book of Secretsā by F.E. Higgins andĀ āMy Friend Dahmerā by Derf Backderf. I had to narrow it down to 2.Ā
Mummy- A book youād preserve throughout time:Ā āGuardians of GaāHooleā byĀ Kathryn Lasky. For such an odd reason. Itās so nostalgic and important to me because when I was younger I found entertainment and love through books. One of the first series I got in to. I havenāt read it in years, but thereās a special place in my heart for those books.Ā Ā
Creepy Doll- A cover too scary to look at: āThe Vivisectorā by Patrick White. To be fair, I have no clue what this book is about and I have never read it in my life. But the cover is fucking disgusting and makes me squirm in my seat everytime I look at it.
