Semi-realistic genetics:

In the dark of the night, Halftalon gives birth to a ginger tom with a white chest. She names her only son Copperkit, after his fur color.

Hazelfur collects 8 herbs this moon.

“Firepaw.” Doeheart looked at the big ginger tom before her. He had grown so much from the little kit she used to play with in the nursery. “You’ve been progressing well in your warrior training. It is time for you to be tested. I would like you to defend the clan by catching as many snakes as you can within the next moon. If you catch enough, you will be ready to receive your warrior name.”

Firepaw nodded and hurried off to patrol the camp.

“Spottedpaw, you-” 

“I’m old enough to be tested so I can earn my warrior name.” The excited tortoiseshell cut her mentor off. “I overheard Firepaw and Doeheart talking.”

“Yes, well, your task is further from home than your brother’s.” Oatdive explained. “You will spend the next moon collecting beetles for Hazelfur.”

Final moon of the year.

After two moons of training the silver tom, Halftalon had gotten used to the peaceful hunts alongside Cloudy. He was a surprisingly natural hunter, and was far from the annoying soft kittypet she’d expected him to be. In the short time that the two had known each other, Halftalon could honestly say she enjoyed his company.

Sixth moon of life in Acornclan.

In a shocking turn of events, Spottedkit was found during a hunting patrol. She had managed to escape the twolegs and had tried to find her way back home. Acornstar was so happy and overjoyed to see her kit back in the safety of camp.

Later, during a patrol of the territory, Halftalon made the mistake of trying to hunt for prey on the other side of the thunderpath along one side of the territory. Without thinking, she had attempted to cross, not seeing the monster roaring towards her on wobbly paws. Halftalon let out a startled yowl that was cut off as the monster struck her, its illuminous eyes glowing as it stared blankly onwards as it continued on its way. Halftalon was lucky to have been sent sprawling on Acornclan’s side of the thunderpath, which was so close to camp that her yowl had alerted her clanmates. Hazelfur was by her side almost in an instant, forcing the colorful bits of a life-saving rainbow beetle down her throat. Halftalon was quite fortunate that the clan had that beetle, or else she would have surely joined Starclan that day.
