Another frustrated grunt came from Jas’s bedroom as Shane cracked open the door. He peered inside, finding Jas on the floor hunched over a doll with an absolute bird’s nest of tangled hair. She yanked a small brush through it and huffed in annoyance. “You alright, kiddo?” “I’m… fine…” she grunted as the plastic brush looked close to snapping in two. Shane chuckled and entered the room, sitting down across from her. “Y’gotta start at the ends and work up, like your hair.” "I didn't ask for your help." Shane startled in surprise. Shit. She definitely learned that from me.
