"Mama, whatcha doin?"
Solana, currently about 6 years old, plops down in the grass next to her mother.
The warm breeze ruffles the short mess of curls that rest on her shoulders as she against her mothers arm.
The woman laughs, patting her head with one hand.
"Im making a crown, sunshine."
She holds out the small wreath of flowers she'd been weaving together, the flowers a bright blue, white and soft pink.
Solana's eyes light up excitedly, her tiny hand reaching out to touch the petals in amazement.
"how'd you do that?! can you show me??"
"of course~"
She beams, placing the crown to the side to pull her daughter into her lap, picking up a handful of flowers from the field around them and showing her how to weave them juuuust right..
They sat there for hours, making crowns for all her friends in the village, and she couldn't wait to show them-!

Solana stared at the little blue flower in her clawed hand, brows pinched together in a frown as the memory faded- ending as quickly as it had appeared..
After a moment, she sat down in the grass- the distant sound of the ocean waves grounding her in reality as she started making herself a crown.
somehow, her hands could still recall the action of something so soft without much effort.
