I didn’t realise how difficult a question this actually would be to answer until I tried to really narrow it down to one for each- Some of the choice explainations are kinda long-winded so I hope you don’t mind ;;
After thinking really hard about it (I have a very large folder of pictures of Hakyeon, this was a really hard decision) I picked this as my very favourite picture of him. His grace and stage presence when he dances were the two main things that began to draw me to him at first when I hadn’t really paid him much attention compared to now. I love him now for far more reasons than I can name (I think your post about it encompassed it brilliantly, honestly) but his dancing was the initial draw and still is one of many things I admire about him. I love how absorbed in his dance he looks in this picture, as well as how graceful he honestly looks. This isn’t the place for an essay so I’ll stop now but that’s why I love this photo of Hakyeon above all others.
I actually have even more pictures of Taekwoon than I do of Hakyeon, surprisingly enough. But also surprisingly, it wasn’t nearly as hard to decide on a favourite. A couple of weeks ago, when I was feeling particularly down, I had an idea for a piece of art. I decided I wanted to try my hand at painting Taekwoon and this was the photo that immediately came to mind of him. The file name on my laptop is ‘Art. Literally. I’m planning on painting him.’ because he’s just a piece of art in himself istg- I’m not sure I can even explain fully why I love it so much I just??? He just looks so nice??? Words do not do justice???
This picture is from the Utopia concert where Jaehwan performed a solo stage of Rolling in the Deep by Adele. Fancams of that concert were when I really really began appreciating his vocals. Like, I always acknowledged his vocals were amazing but that performance was where they really shone for me, you know? The emotion that went into that performance moves me every single time I watch it without fail. I want to cry every damn time. I love his vocals so much I swear to god-
LR was what allowed me to discover VIXX as a whole to begin with. So Beautiful Liar will always be close to my heart for that reason. It’s also where I first decided to bias Wonshik, my very first VIXX bias before the long road that lead me to stanning OT6 as a whole. I just loved his energy, the emotions that went into his rapping and his level of involvement in the creation process as a whole for the album. Just, kinda everything. It was the beginning of my love of VIXX and my love of Wonshik too. I also love the aesthetic of this picture. That helps it being my favourite of all the pictures of Beautiful Liar, I won’t lie.
This was actually way harder to decide on than I expected it to be? But after thinking really really hard about it, I decided on this. Another performance that brought me to fully appreciate a member’s vocals and in the long run, Hongbin himself. I have no clue why anymore but I never used to pay him that much attention? Like he sort of took a back seat while I paid all the attention to other members until quite recently- His cover of Falling Slowly helped make me realise what a wonderful and talented person I was sleeping on and so any pictures from that performance are my favourites of him, honestly.
I feel kind of bad that I don’t have the same kind of deep reasoning for my favourite of Sanghyuk. Maybe because I can’t really find any defining moment where I started loving him, I just sort of always have? But I adored the aesthetics for these teasers, the lace, the uniforms, the lighting, and Sanghyuk’s is my favourite of those. I can’t think of another photo of him that I love more, honestly-
