Send me ‘💍’ for our muses to wake up married after a night of heavy drinking || @earthslastchance
Apparently, Stratt had opted for top-shelf alcohol when supplying them. The Boukha from her stash they drank last night hit her harder than any she had ever drunk before. Her eyelids drag across her cornea like sandpaper as consciousness comes back to her. The scientist's body aches all over, but mostly her back, as she uncurls herself from the floor.
"Oh, good. Grace-mate, awake."
Zu'elah nearly jumps out of her skin, twisting her upper body, finding Rocky across the room. A wave of nausea passes over her as she moves, resulting in a soft groan escaping her lips. Her hand comes up to press at her eyes. Grace-mate, wha-
Oh God.
Glancing down at the ring finger on her left hand, she sees the xenonite ring Rocky had crafted for the two of them. The events rush back, sloppily and disjointedly, like waking up from a coma. Celebrating, drinking, one thing led to another, and, well, at least Rocky was here to watch over them so they didn't accidentally launch themselves out of the airlock.
"You married us?" the woman exclaims a little too loudly, throwing her hands up in the air. A groan from behind her sounds out, and once again she whirls around, a hand going up to her temple. When the hell did he get there?
Behind her, as if they had fallen asleep spooning, Ryland is blinking up at her, looking just as bad as she feels, possibly worse. A blush arises on her cheeks. Damn, even impossibly hungover, he looks beautiful. Her eyes catch on the ring on his hand, resting near his head; she glances away quickly to Rocky, then back to Ryland out of guilt.
"Good morning," she murmurs quietly, not wanting her voice to aggravate either of their headaches, assuming he has one. Though she may have gone a bit harder on the alcohol than he did. "Sleep, uh, well?" Zu'elah winces.
