*Hagins intensifies*
In order to live our lives in a meaningful way, we have to be clear about what is valuable to us! We must achieve balance. Balance means recognizing, out of our many interests, what our real needs are, and then rearranging our priorities to reflect those needs. This usually means letting go of our tightly held pursuits and attachments, and to do this you must be prepared to ask yourself some serious questions; and be even more prepared to accept the inevitable answers to those questions (regardless of how painful they may be). It is the constant pursuit of unnecessary things and our preoccupation with objects, projects, people and activities that keep us in a circle of suffering and unhappiness. Life is for living...so live!

My Sucky Teen Romance SXSW Premiere
Harry Knowles introduced 18 year-old Austin director Emily Hagins by telling how Hagins' mother wrote to Peter Jackson a decade ago to tell him about her cinema-crazed youngster. Jackson put the family in touch with Knowles. She's already on her third feature (and was the subject of a feature documentary) prompting Knowles to call the past ten years the "Hagins era."
"We've gotten to see a entire community gather around the vision of Emily Hagins," Knowles continued.
Hagins' vampire romantic comedy - part Twilight satire, part loving homage to budget motel Sci-Fi conventions - received a standing ovation from a crowd heavy on that community, of cast, crew, friends and other teens - before it even started
"What if the movie is bad?" the poised choked-up director responded, before thanking the many non-badgeholders for waiting in "long long lines" to get in. "I know, I've been there. I can't imagine...I can imagine, I've been there."
Afterwards, Hagins mentioned how her actors and actresses created Facebook pages for their characters to better understand them, and won praise from a member of the audience for using actual teenage actors to play teenagers (three of them answered "college" when asked what their next project was). Of course, Hagins' next project will be the "untitled Emily Hagins fourth feature." Watch the movie's trailer here.
