. . A rather simple fix for a somewhat complex problem... . After having solved the +5V supply issue (see prev. post: tired diode bridge replaced with thermal paste added, as well as corresponding Molex connector redone, and reservoir caps replaced too) now this much loaded supply rail is clean and rock-solid ๐ . But there was still no sound coming out of the unit. Researches showed that was due to the rather "strange" path for the signal controlling the outputs of the FIFO chips (the ones mainly responsible for the pitch-shifting effect): this machine had a late revision board that prevented these chips to be activated, EVER!!! ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค . I might have been missing something there, though there were absolutely NO evidence of any hand-made modification to any board re. this path... And, believe me, I DID check, recheck, double-and triple-check!
