But these trembling responses are not just happenings of today but date back to the time of Sangam literature. A range that has been the destination of thrills and mysteries from time immemorial. It is none other than Kolli hills situated in the district of Namakkal.
Kolli Malayalis: Apart from its breathtaking serenity and fresh atmosphere, there are also hundreds of mysteries knotted up around this short hill range. One of the mysteries is that this hill remains authentic and untouched by any urban activities. The hill is also a habitat for the hill tribes called Malayalis. They have been the inheriting dwellers in this range from the Sangam period and still stay true to their ancestral practices till this day. One such interesting practice is that these tribes swore to not cut down any tree in the hill and still abide by it.
