It had been a really though battle and you were both really, really glad it was done. You were both bleeding from many injuries and it had started raining in the middle of battle. 

As soon as the beast fell, he gave you a tight hug and muttered thanks to whatever higher power might exist out there. You were too shocked to say anything. The hug only lasted a second, but you were out of breath afterwards. you weren’t quite sure if you were still catching your breath from the battle or if he’d squeezed it out of you. 

It wasn’t until later that night when you were at a basecamp that you mentionned the hug. 

“You must have imagined it, I would never do such a thing,” he scoffed and fixed his glasses. 

“I’m pretty sure I didn’t imagine you hugging me so tightly I couldn’t breathe,” you replied with a shit eating grin. 

He coughed. “Let’s pretend it never happened.”
