Polysaccarides: Gylcogen
 - formed by the condensation of many monosaccharides.Â
 - made from lots of glucose molecules joined together by glycosidic bonds to form long, branched chains surrounding a core protein of glycogenin.Â
- A storage molecule particularly in liver and muscle cells (see above)Â
 - Like starch formed by the condensation of αlpha glucose
 - More branched than starch and therefore less dense and more soluble
 - More rapidly broken down than starch – higher metabolic rate in animals than plants
