The saiyan stood in front of him, his eyes not showing either mercy or hatred. Then he suddenly spoke, calmly but directly, “What is it that keeps you alive?” 

The alien stayed silent for a few seconds as he pondered his answer. Then with fangs still beared, he growled, “Freedom.”

Bardock smirked, “Freedom is relative but live on if you may, see what it does to you.” He turned his back on him and walked towards his group, a team of strong saiyans who had always fought by his side. 

“Captain,” said Tohma, his second in comand and friend. “Your grandson Goten was summoned by lord Frieza himself to accompany us in the Aquarius mission. He´ll be meeting us here in a short time.”

Nodding in approval, Bardock took a step in the ship, “ By the way, If you see that alien move an inch...kill him.”

The prince was currently enjoying a large meal he had ordered his sort of girlfriend Bulma-- more commonly known as the woman-- to make for him. They weren’t really close just yet, but there would be plenty of time for that, as long the saiyajin didn’t happen to have some reason to go and fight a threat that suddenly would drop down onto the Earth.

It had only been a couple of years after Cell and Goku had been killed, as well Gohan saving the world.

Vegeta had gotten back his motivation mostly by this point, by the help of Bulma, but he wouldn’t dare admit it to anyone.

There was a party outside, but he didn’t bother with it one tiny bit. He didn’t like the crowds of Bulma’s friends anyway. And they probably didn’t mind that the prince wasn’t around for it.

He sunk his teeth into the bite of his fifth steak, when he felt a tug on his spandex pants. He casted down an annoyed scowl-- and upon seeing who it was, he kicked at the small saiyajin.

Goten. The son of his long-standing rival.

The half breed crept up behind his brother. Very carefully, avoiding anything that would make noise. He picked up Goten quickly and swung him around. It was such a long day at school, and was glad to be home.
