Guild Wars 2: How will you roll?

Our @wintersdayzine dice, available until Nov. 15th, just came in! These are the D6 “race” dice, with one side as the ‘random” roll. They are made of zinc and engraved with racial designs. Its accompaniment, the D12 professions dice, will be posted with photos later this month.

The proceeds of this project go toward Save the Children. The dice are ONLY guaranteed with the bundles. This is part of the sponsored @guildwars2 project, Journeys.

Let’s Meet Our 2018 Wintersday Zine Adventurers!

The moderation team of this year’s Wintersday Zine is ever so excited to introduce our 82 contributors! We have 10 writers, 65 artists and 7 comic creators who will be lending their talents to put this charity book together.

Our goal for the project is to showcase our favorite moments from the @guildwars2 game, from the first time you stepped into the world, to hitting that first updraft, to unlocking your griffon mount, and more. They aren’t all the happy moments – we aim to tackle the memorable experiences that hopefully remind you of why you fell in love with this adventure.

Thank you to everyone who applied to work with us. We are always incredibly humbled to hear from each and every one of you, and it’s never an easy choice. We really appreciate all of your support!

ONE DAY REMAINS TO THE CAMPAIGN!

These are the second set of pins for the campaign. As previously announced on Twitter, the unlocked $120,000 pin is a glow-in-the-dark Flameseeker Prophecies, so you’ll get to see that in the add-on selection. 

The World Completion and Eternity pins are both submitted and designed by the mods, while Apples for Tybalt was submitted in the Pin Contest by Digital Flower, and designed by the mods (text subject to refinement).

Also, if you didn’t hear...:

WE HIT $120,000!!! Which means we’re officially giving $15,000 to IFAW, unlocked 2 more cards and a number of other items, including the tarot cloth gift to our artists/editors/writers/cosplayer. You guys are all so fantastic, and we’re all so glad to have you with us.

The Wild cards were something I was really excited we could do! It allowed us to add characters and places that we thought were integral to the game - that needed a place - but couldn’t find a home in the main deck. They all get their own space as an individual physical card, along with meanings the artists have given them explained in the book.

Collectors can either choose to play with the cards or to use them however they choose. (We’d love to know what stories they tell for you!)

If you’re not with the campaign yet, time is almost up!

Today we get to bring you another preview panel - this time of the Cups, which represent the emotional tides and journeys you experience over a lifetime (even if that journey comes to being crushed by a certain angry creature - you’ll have to find out why in the book!). 

As you all know, each of the artists get to explain their cards and their depictions in the book. They all have meanings based on the original decks, along with just being gorgeous pieces of art on top of that.
