After successfully completing your first Island Challenge, Professor Magnolia greets you. She wears a big smile on her face and seems overall pleased.

“Congrats on finishing the Island Challenge! You seemed to pass it with flying colors. There are new areas we can visit now while we’re training for the next.”

She leads you and the others to Paniola Town, one of the new locations. It’s there in the Pokemon Center she explains the plan of attack.

“Your next task will be to train and prepare for facing Kiawe. He’s the Fire Trial Captain, so it might be good to have a water type on your team. And because of that, I’m giving you all a fishing pole. But it’s up to you to learn how to be a master angler. Do your best, trainers!”

As days of battling come and pass, you finally make it to the event that brought you to this place to begin with -- the Island Challenge. As the fateful day finally arrives, your class makes their way over to Brooklet Hill on Akala Island for their first challenge.

Awaited at the entrance, you find Trial Captain Lana, who greets you enthusiastically before making her way in to the trial area. As Lana heads in, your teacher stands there proudly at the gates for a moment, before explaining the rules of the trial.

“Okay, everyone! It’s all you from here on out, got it? I’ll be around during the trial, but I can’t participate while you’re all taking it on together. Too bad, right? Adults can’t participate in the Island Challenge... Well, anyways, you’re going to be doing some intense battling, so I thought I’d give you all something before you head in...”

From her bag, Magnolia produces x2 Oran Berries for everyone to take.

“They heal 10 HP each, so make sure to use ‘em wisely! I’d suggest saving them for the Totem Pokemon at the end, but that’s just me.” She folds her arms. “I think that’s it... oh, by the way -- you can’t catch any pokemon you find in here until you clear the trial. You can’t run from battles either, so don’t even bother trying that!”

“Well, are you ready? If you have any questions, just let me know!”

Today is a special day! Today you begin your life-long journey as a pokémon master, as you take your first steps into the New Aether Pokémon School in Alola. You've certainly travelled from far and wide to finally get here so, whether it be eagerly, optimistically, or begrudgingly, walking into the school fills you with a sense of adventure, one that you feel you won't soon forget. With your pokémon partner by your side, anything is possible!

After scrambling around to find your homeroom on the second floor, you're greeted by a familiar face, Professor Magnolia of the Aether Foundation. She smiles warmly, and instructs you to take a seat before the lecture begins. The classroom is exquisite, and definitely Aether-influenced, with super high-tech assets, and an incredible view of the ocean!

After a few minutes, the first bell rings, and a few stragglers take their seats as Professor Magnolia walks to the front of the classroom. In a dramatic fashion, she flips her boa over her shoulder, and begins to write on the whiteboard in the front of the room.

When she's done, in fancy handwriting, the board reads:

Alola! Welcome to Aether!

With her hands on her hips, she points her dry erase marker towards the class and begins to speak.

“Alola, everyone! I'm Magnolia, a pokémon professor. Goodness, I'm so very excited to finally meet all of you! When they told me I was teaching this class, I could hardly contain myself! You all seem like a fun bunch, and we're gonna have such a great year, after all! You're going to take on the Island Challenge together, right?”

She claps her hands together, and if by magic, the pokéball in the Professor's coat pocket releases a Zorua. It barks happily.

“I know we all just got here, so why don't we introduce ourselves before anything else? I'm dying to get to meet all of you!”

Magnolia claps her hands together, and Zorua hops up once, as if on cue. “Okay, let's play an icebreaker! Kids these days love those kinda things, right?” She winks.

“I already introduced myself, but let's go again! In case you forgot, hehe. I’m Magnolia, nice to meet you! And this,” She says, extending her arm for her pokémon partner to climb on, “Is Ann! Say hi to everyone, Ann!” Ann barks again and winks, just like Magnolia.
