‘Alphonse Le Leuxhe’ painted by his brother-in-law @guywilthew (my great grandfather) I was told that Alphonse, a talented artist himself, was killed on the very first day of World War One fighting in French army. Recently I chanced upon a documentary on British TV and a team of archeological researchers were excavating the farmhouse and site of the first battle on day one of WW1. They dug up the remains of numerous unknown French Soldiers who had lain undisturbed since that day over one hundred years before. I guess there’s a good chance I was watching Alphonse be recovered… it felt quite poignant. #worldwar1 #muséedufaouët #museedufaouet #guywilthew #archeology #archeologicalsite (at Guy UsinU - Fine Artist.) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck0kh9DjVAH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
