Well, it has officially been a week since this whole ordeal with Sam really kicked off. You’re probably sick and tired of hearing me talk about him right? Well that’s pretty much how I feel too so welcome to my troubles. I just by chance went to this thrift store to check out some clothes, and there is music playing, like most retail stores. I usually don’t pay much attention to the music because it’s usually contemporary and I don’t care, but do you know what song came on? I don’t even know the name of it, but I know that it was by Sam’s favorite band. And I only knew that because that night he drove me back to my dorm we talked about music and he mentioned his favorite band and the next day I thought I’d look into them and I listened to maybe 3 of their songs, they all sounded quite similar. I think that’s my bad though, not theirs. I listen to the Beatles a lot, and all of their songs are very different, but I feel like they are pretty unique in that. And other than that I switch around a lot between other artists, so I’m used to listening to a lot of music that is very different. But anyway, what are the chances? I go into a thrift shop that I have been to once before, and just when I happen to be there they happen to play one song from an indie rock band that is one of the only songs I have ever heard from this band. And all it does is immediately remind me of him. If you ask me there were to many coincidences for this to be a coincidence.
I still haven’t heard from him. I figured it’s about a 550 page book I recommended to him, if he started it this Monday, the first day of summer, it’s probably going to be close to 3 weeks before I hear from him. Unless he is a fast and active reader, then probably closer to two weeks. But if he doesn’t like it or puts it off I mean I could be waiting forever. How long do I wait before i call it? I figure if he is in any way interested in me he would just get through this book to have a valid reason to talk to me, I mean makes sense right? I mean he could definitely finish this book in around 11 days, then he only has to read 50 pages a day. This whole scenario, with all this time for thinking about things is not good for someone like me. Not a day has gone by where I haven’t spent at least a small amount of time thinking about this. I have never done this before. When I was in high school if I liked someone I never thought about them once I left school. It was more of when I saw them I thought about it, but that’s where that ended. Maybe I need to put myself out of my suffering and just ask him. I don’t know. I don’t know if I would rather live with the dream of what might have been or possibly have my soul crushed by a potential rejection. I am not good and being in these vulnerable situations. Which is why I should go for it-experience right? Why can’t he say or do something. Wait it out it shall be.
