Gunvolt art study part 1: proportions and use of space in cgs
SPOILER WARNING play the collection when it comes out tomorrow
Under cut
Bodies
Faces
————————————————————————
Notes:
The arms are shorter than the legs
The hands go to around the upper thigh
The length from the eyes to the nose and chin depend on how big the eyes are
The lengths from the head from the hips is around 2-3 heads
There’s at least 2 concept artists
Younger characters like Zonda, Joule, and Xiao have bigger eyes
It seems like the eyes are in relation the maturity see Gunvolt when compared to Asimov
(edit: I really should have expanded on this. Gunvolt and Copen are the most visible but a lot of the younger characters have bigger eyes that take up more of the face. It makes them look younger and more expressive when compared to Asimov whose eyes are much smaller in comparison which, when combined with his face shape makes him look like a grown man. There are some outliers (see Nori but that’s probably galgun related) but it’s typically consistent with this
Eye shapes are also related to character (see Copen having d-shaped eyes which gives him an rbf)
The main leads are just short lol (5’3 and 5’5 respectively)
Cg arts (mostly gv2)
————————————————————————
The city is used to lead the eyes to the characters
The primary character of focus takes up the most space (around 2-3 squares)
Using rule of thirds the primary character will take up the middle or at the very least use it
More than one character can be in a cg and are usually placed by importance eg the Gunvolt and Zonda ones
Items of interest are also highlighted
